This is just my cooking blog located in Australia.
I am not a trained chef. I've never done a cooking course at TAFE. I have no piece of paper that says I am a professional chef. I hold no qualifications in the culinary arts whatsoever. Billions of people prepare dishes the world over, every day, with zero qualifications. Cooking is for everyone and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
I love eating good food and I have a passion for learning how to do things the right way. I like to research things obsessively. Is this recipe authentic? Is that author using the best modern method? Is there more to learn about a recipe or technique? The majority of my recipes are traditional, authentic, healthy and written in an easy-to-understand way using modern cooking equipment and methods.
Naturally, living in Australia, I make recipes that are easy for Aussies to follow. I feel that there aren't enough websites that do that for us. I use Aussie terminology and Aussie ingredients and brands that are available locally in supermarkets like Coles and Woolies. If they're not, I'll let you know where else to look, such as specialty delicatessens or one of our many and varied Asian markets that we are so lucky to have here. And of course, the recipes are all metric... for the most part. I also wanted a place where there were no ads, pop-ups, incentives or nag screens. Just a nice, clean interface with the recipe smack-bang, the only thing in your face.
About the recipes themselves: If you think I've made a grave error in a recipe, please tell me. If you think I can make something better, please let me know. But most importantly, you can sign up and add your own recipes to this site for everyone to see. Go ahead and try it!
About me (really): I'm a former Signwriter, a Graphic Designer, a Security Professional, a BBS SysOp, a Computer Technician, an IT Road Warrior, a Web Developer & Designer and Nurse. I changed careers so often because I get bored, then restless, frustrated, and eventually, self destructive. Today I am a professional Tattoo Artist which I've been doing far longer than any other career. I have no plans to be a chef. Thanks for reading this far.
